Troops from the 6 Brigade Nigerian Army/Sector 3 Operation Whirl Stroke (OPWS) successfully thwarted a kidnapping attempt and rescued six victims in Taraba State. The incident occurred on April 27, 2025, along the Wukari–Kente road.
Following a distress call from the Executive Chairman of Wukari Local Government Area about an attack on suspected travelers, the troops responded promptly. Upon arrival, they discovered an abandoned white Toyota Hilux vehicle with a flat tire. Shortly after, six individuals emerged from the nearby bush, unharmed, and identified themselves as the occupants of the vehicle.
The victims, including Musa Hudu, Deputy Commander of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) Zone 1 in Ibadan, had fled into the bush after being attacked by armed assailants. They were safely escorted out of the area, and their vehicle was repaired before they continued their journey.
