Eight Suspected Cultists Arrested Over YABATECH Killings in Lagos​

The Lagos State Police Command has arrested eight individuals suspected of involvement in a series of cult-related killings at Yaba College of Technology (YABATECH) and its surrounding areas. The arrests were made on April 29, 2025, during an intelligence-led operation conducted by the Command's tactical teams and the Eko Strike Force.

The suspects have been identified as:​

  • Adeyemo Abdulsamad, alias "Cloud," 24

  • Afeez Enitan, 28

  • Ayomide Daniel, 30

  • Olamilekan Adeagbo, alias "Skinny," 26

  • Mayor Samson, 38

  • Basit Ishola, 20

  • Quadri Sikiru, 26

  • Mariam Salihu, 23​

 

During the operation, law enforcement officers recovered a Beretta pistol, four 9mm ammunition rounds, one cartridge, two battle axes, and two cutlasses from the suspects. ​

 

This development follows a recent incident where a YABATECH student was shot dead near the institution's back gate shortly after completing his exams, in a suspected cult-related attack.

 

The Lagos State Police Command has assured the public that investigations are ongoing to determine the full extent of the suspects' involvement in cult-related activities. The Commissioner of Police, CP Olohundare Jimoh, commended the swift response of the tactical teams and urged residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to the authorities.
